Rules & Regulations Governing the Tournament

  1. USBC Rules will be observed.
  2. Doubles will consist of any two bowlers that are USBC Certified.
  3. All bowlers must show a USBC membership card upon check in.
  4. Bowlers will use the highest certified average based in a minimum of 21 games for the 2023/24, 2024/25, and 2025/26 seasons.
  5. If a bowlers has no USBC certified average; bowler uses a scratch average of 240.
  6. Use of current 2025/26 average shall required written verification from a league secretary upon check-in.
  7. USBC-certified averages will be verified. Average corrections must be made within 48 hours after completion of bowling completion.
  8. Bowlers with USBC sport bowling averages must only submit the adjusted average as per USBC rule 202 A-D. Bowlers with sport and standard average must use the highest averages. 
  9. Doubles Event Handicap: 90% based on team average of 480.
  10. Singles Event Handicap: 90% based on 240.
  11. TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR RERATE ANY BOWLER OR ENTRY.
  12. Doubles event, re-entry allowed, upon changing partners. If same partner is used in re-entry, team can only cash once on prize list.
  13. Singles and combine bowlers may only cash once per USBC Rules.
  14. Bowlers must bowl Doubles and Singles in each entry.
  15. Prize Ratio: At least one prize for every ten entries or better in each event.
  16. All prize fees returned 100% – prize money will not be paid until all averages are verified.
  17. Walk-in entries will only be accepted until 1/2 hour before squad time, if lanes are available.
  18. No National PBA / PWBA / PBA50 Titles within the last 10 years will be allowed to compete.
  19. Premature termination of the tournament brought about by war, national emergency, or emergency causes relating thereto or therefrom, fire, natural disaster, or any other reason beyond the control of ABC Gates Bowl Tournament. Shall cause, to the extent required thereby, all advertised prizes, guaranteed or otherwise, to be pro-rated in accordance with numbers of paid entries. 
  20. TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE HAS FINAL SAY IN ALL DISPUTES.
  21. Returned checks will be charges an additional $40.00fee.
